The desk-authored convergence zones projected onto the globe: where several operational signals — flights, vessels, seismic, news, cyber — converge inside one perimeter, with a risk level and a narrative.
When to open it
- At the open: see at a glance where the desk thinks there is something to watch today.
- To place a zone discussed in the Desk panel or in the day's brief on the map.
- When a Polymarket market or a macro theme moves with no single obvious story behind it: a CRITICAL or HIGH zone nearby often explains the rotation.
Anatomy
Switch on ZONE in the layer grid at top right. Each zone shows up as a disc centered on its coordinates, with a radius in real kilometers (zoom in and the disc grows on screen). A thin border, a very restrained fill, and a label on top carrying the zone's name and its risk level in caps. The whole thing pulses gently (≈ 8 s) — enough to announce itself without crowding the other layers.
Click one and an info card opens in the top-right corner.
How to read it
The disc on the map

The info card (click a zone)

| Narrative | A paragraph written by the desk — why this perimeter is treated as a convergence, and what the signals say taken together. |
| Related markets | Chips for the Polymarket markets the desk reads as directly priced by this zone. |

Controls

The layer reloads automatically every 2 minutes — when the desk republishes, the map updates without a page reload.
Cross-check with other Hawkline features
- The Desk panel carries the long version: the signal list, icons by type (✈ flight, ⚓ vessel, ⚠ seismic, ● news, ⚡ cyber, ☢ nuclear), full narratives.
- A zone lighting up over a maritime region: cross-check with AIS and MIL to see the raw signals underneath.
- Related markets shown on the info card: Markets to find them again and check where they price now.
Keep in mind
- A desk editorial product. Zones are written by the Hawkline desk, not computed continuously. An empty screen means the desk sees no cluster worth your attention today — not that nothing is happening in the world.
- No numeric score. Risk level only, in four steps. For quantification stream by stream, go to TDI.
